The idea was to have a typewriter writing the letter. Why this? Because Nuvita has been there for ages. The idea was to showcase how Nuvita is playing catch up to the digital age and to add a little bit of humor to the video. The letter was to Mitchell who was the originator the whole story. She complained on social media why Nuvita biscuits were too small and decreased in size over the years which eventually stirred up the internet.
The overall animation was quite tedious with many trials and error eventually I got pace and was able to tackle the challenges. The typewriter had to move in several directions sideways then back to starting point but the background had to stay still to simulate movement repeating this for each and every line. also the animation was not supposed to cross certain areas as you can see I have marked with rulers, it had to maintain a certain width so that sentences don't feel long to read and follow through.
The typewriter was a short clip which I had to precompose in after effects as you can see here. then after precomposing came duplicating each composition over and over to create a long clip that i didn't have to animate each time the typewriter had to move.
This was the original storyboard that inspired the portrait video. The idea was to have clear shots of Nuvita now NOVITA in packets, how it was made, shots of the factory, the rider on the road, and finally delivery to the customer.
These are some adjustments I had to make in illustrator so that I could be able to animate certain elements. Cutting out nav bars was a tedious process but everything eventually turned out great.
